Grace Church welcomes Caspian Mitchard to Bach at Noon on Tuesday 6 October at 12:20 p.m.
Caspian Mitchard hails from Oxford, England, where he began learning the organ as a chorister at New College under Prof. Edward Higginbottom. He continued his studies in secondary school with Simon Whalley, David Sanger, and William Whitehead, and in 2009 won the ‘Oundle For Organists’ (Oundle International Festival) Bach Prize. After a Gap year as Organ Scholar at St Paul’s Cathedral Melbourne, Australia, Caspian was for 3 years Organ Scholar at Peterhouse, Cambridge University, where he studied Philosophy but also directed the college choir and toured with them to France and Scotland. He will soon be travelling back to the UK to take up a school organist teaching position, but hopes to return to New York to pursue post-graduate organ study next year.
