griswald door 1 nov 2013Greetings everyone!
Tuesday’s Choir Camp was brilliant. Thank you everyone who did so much to make the day run so smoothly and helped us all accomplished our work with fun. The choristers sound beautiful. I think they surprised themselves! They work in such a lovely fashion together and the day was just inspiring!

Thank you to Melinda Weir, Vicky Hurley, Meaghan Cheung, Anastasia Rotheroe, Kathy Keane, and Cara Wall who got all the choristers vested and helped us stay on schedule and organized!

Thank you to Meaghan Cheung for the lovely platter of cheese and yummies that she provided for the parent meeting.

And

Thank you to Melinda Weir who has taken over organizing Choir Parent Volunteers and the Orientation Meeting this year from Laura Holt. Thank you also to Erik Sorensen, Meaghan Cheung and Vicky Hurley who also spoke at the meeting.

There is so much for all of us to do. It’s going to be a very special season.

Our Choir Word for the year is Beauty! All our work and time together inspired by one another leading to the renewal of and creation of Beauty! Beauty in Art – Music and in Fellowship.

If your chorister could not make Tuesday we still hope they will join in with everyone this Sunday and sing.
They should arrive perhaps 5 or ten minutes earlier than their call so we can vest them and get their music organized.

The schedule for the rest of the week is:
Thursday: 7:00 a.m. First Senior Boys Breakfast Club and Rehearsal
Friday: 7:00 a.m. First Senior Girls Breakfast Club and Rehearsal

Sunday
9:45 Call for Senior Choristers
10:15 Call for Junior Choristers
10:30 Call for Novice Choristers
11:00 Service
12:20ish, Special First Sunday back and Celebration of Don Waring’s first 10 years as Rector of Grace Church in New York!

The information discussed at the Parent Orientation Meeting is now posted in the Choir Family Secure area of our Website.

There are jobs for everyone!
Our goal is to have every parent take a turn with something this season. Vicky Hurley and Melinda Weir have built on last year’s introduction of an e sign up link. Now this link includes all choir activities, not just the choir parent helpers for services and concerts. It’s brilliant!
It is posted in the website and below you can click on to see what is possible.

I’ve also put the link for Kathy Keane-Longley’s brilliant goggle link to our goggle schedules for each of the levels of the choir. You can see when your chorister is participating and sign up accordingly. Ask lots of questions, in our attempt to be flexible we have created a complicated maze of schedules, but after a short time it all comes together and the music flows.
