The month of February has been very exciting. The organ is growing and as Lent begins, take up the duties of supporting our community in song. The most recent shipment from Virginia brought the two 32′ Pedal Reeds, more wind lines, blower and the frame of the Solo and Large Pedal divisions.
Today, 26 February the two 32′ reeds are on their wind chest, the first manual reed stop, the Swell Oboe is on the chest and speaking and much of the flue pipe work of the Great and Swell divisions are voiced and tuned.
Today we heard the 1907 Skinner 32′ Open Wood that speaks from the West Gallery tested under proper wind, all twelve historic pipes are healthy, spoke well and are almost in tune. The Rector was present to make an inspection and feel the spirit.
In the next three weeks more of the organ will arrive and great progress preparing for Holy Week and Easter offerings will be accomplished. Please keep the builders in your thoughts and prayers for safe and productive musical finishing and times.
