Happy Eve of President’s Weekend. Have a safe and fun Holiday Weekend.

Bravo everyone on such an amazing week with Dr. Rose and the beautiful concert on Sunday afternoon.

Thank you Julie McAskin and James Gomez for organizing and creating such a beautiful reception and organizing the ushers and hospitality. Thank you everyone who helped with set up, clean up and donated food and resources for the afternoon.

Congratulations new Junior Choristers (our mighty 2nd grade novice class – now promoted) and to our newly whited new junior and senior choristers. Well done!

This is always a confusing promotion – the 2nd graders are now “new juniors.” They should continue to follow the schedule they have kept since September and not attempt to jump to the older junior chorister schedules.

17 February, THIS SUNDAY MORNING- The Adult Choir, Choristers on long weekend break.

A CHOIR INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT! It has LAUNCHED. Thank you Meaghan Cheung for moving us forward. Send her photos to post to help get us launched. It is called: Choirs of Grace Church
check it out!

December Chorister Allowance Checks – these were mailed before Christmas to all choristers. If your chorister has not received their check, please let PA know asap.

Please look around and cash any check you may have and not put into the bank. I will be in touch soon from a list of uncashed checks from 2017 and 2018. We need to close the books.

Novices and Juniors
Evensong began again last Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. This gentil service lasts about 30 minutes. We will have Evensong every Tuesday Choir is in session through May.

Keep listening to Bernstein and practicing your Hebrew! We have much to do especially over the next two months to prepare for the big Anniversary Concert 26 April.

Our experiment with flexible rehearsals is working – well done everyone for all your creativity. On that note – Seniors – Boys and Girls will be working at every rehearsal on the Concert music for the Anniversary celebration – you are welcome at as many rehearsals as you can stand to attend 🙂

HOMEWORK FOR ALL CHORISTERS: Have a listen to yourselves in 2014! Ridout Sacred Songs Set One

ESSENTIAL HOMEWORK FOR SENIOR CHORISTERS – Listen to the Berntsein – It’s great NYC music and we will be offering it on the big April 26 Concert! The text is attached. Bernstein Chichester Psalms

A FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITY! Thank you Cara Wall. Cara has offered the Choir Community a new long term fundraising opportunity through her store Clementine Consignment. A letter from her is attached with the details of how it works. She will have a fill in the blank tax donation letter for you to receive and fill in the amount you think the clothes are worth for your tax purposes. You receive the letter when you drop off the donations at the store. Again Thank you Cara for suggesting this great opportunity for the choir community. The choir will receive money from the store based on a percentage of what the clothes sell for. These monies will go into the Choir Special Projects Fund.

Please check the attached “newsletter” for other details and links.

All my love, Patrick

Please find a time to watch and listen to these YouTube excerpts. They are from some of our fellow choirs around the world and are lovely and fun. They can help give us all a better idea of our tradition and celebrate the 1000 year old heritage that we participate in. I was in Wells this week and really, the church and choral tradition is just shy of it’s 1000th birthday! This year is the 120th birthday for our choir foundation.
