Choir Family Links and Information from the September Start Up Newsletters 2024

Parents, please sign up to be a choir parent helper, breakfast provider or special activity volunteer. It takes a community! While the next tour is a few years away, it will be here before you know it. Slow and steady wins the race in this context.

Note on Robe Cleaning: we are asking all families to take choristers vestments home to throw in the wash when needed. See below for a laundry tip! Hang them up while still warm from the dryer. If you send them to a laundry, they should not be dry cleaned, the fabric isn’t designed for that, they respond best to being hung up while hot from the dryer.

Here is the link to the program orientation handout that summarizes the new season for everyone.

Two important notes:

All boys at every level are expected to attend and sing all services when the Choir of Men and Boys is scheduled and the same for girls, all girls at every level are expected to attend and sing all services when the Choir of Adults and Girls with HS Singers is scheduled.

Our program is unique, choristers are professionals showing up for work to support the music of our offerings. This commitment to our work creates the art, beauty and love we all share and offer the church, school and greater communities gathered.

Parents, have a look at your schedules and sign up to be choir parent helpers, please sign up on sign up genius. We especially need people to help with before and after supervision/vesting and cleanup on Sundays and to provide breakfast for Sunday morning rehearsals.

High School Choristers who are interested in community service hours and in taking on an internship role to support the choir program this season should talk with Dr. A. We can create something to support the choir and nurture your interests together.

Recruiting is never over, so keep spreading the word.

If you sent me an address correction or have moved since June 2024, please remind me. We have made all the corrections, and currently I’m processing the chorister allowances. I’d like to proof those addresses once more to make sure our records are up to date and everyone gets their checks quickly.

Interested in learning Amahl? The Snowman song? Other favorite solos?

Snowman audition videos need to be prepared and sent before 1 October.

HS Singers, sing with the choir of Adults and Girls with HS Singers

HS Girls, please rehearse with the Senior Girls as schedule

HS Boys, young gentlemen whose voices have changed will continue to work during an agreed upon day and schedule with your Lunch Hour. Let’s communicate and get rehearsing after you settle into your schedule in September.
