On Tuesday 21 October Grace Church welcomes Larry Long, Organist and Choirmaster at the Church of the Epiphany in New York City as our guest artist for Bach at Noon that day.

Mr. Long’s program will include:

Kyrie, Gott Vater in Ewigkeit, BWV 669
Christe, aller Welt Trost, BWV 670

Larry J. Long is Organist and Choirmaster at the Church of the Epiphany in New York City, where he has worked since 2009. He has performed at a number of churches in Manhattan, including St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and Bach Vespers, Grace Episcopal Church, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, St. James’ Church, and Park Avenue Christian Church. He served at Lutheran churches in Chicago for many years prior to moving to New York City in 2005.

Active as a composer, Mr. Long has compositions published by Augsburg Fortress, GIA, St. James Music Press, and World Library.

Mr. Long received music degrees in church music from Valparaiso University and Southern Methodist University. Other studies included the Royal School of Church Music in England, and with Anton Heiller at the Haarlem Summer Academy for Organists in the Netherlands. He is the Registrar of the New York City chapter of the American Guild of Organists, and a member of the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians and American Composers Forum.
