ANDREA TOSCHI was born in Bologna, where he attended the Conservatory “G.B. Martini” and earned his Diploma in Organ in 1982, having participated in many master classes with famous organists. The same year, he also graduated from the University of Bologna with a degree in Agrarian Sciences. Since 1983 he has been teaching Organ in Italian Conservatories; currently he is teaching at the “Giuseppe Nicolini” in Piacenza .He is very busy on the concert circuit, both in Italy and abroad (including Europe and South America), mostly as a soloist but also in chamber music with violin, flute, trumpet, cello and orchestra. His repertoire ranges from ancient to modern music, and he is often invited to inaugurate restored Italian historic instruments; he frequently premieres contemporary music dedicated to him, for example the new organ piece “Kyrie Eleison” written for him by pianist and composer Andrea Padova. In 2002 he became organist at St. Agostino Church, Modena (Facchetti historic organ, 1517/19) and two years later at Santa Maria della Misericordia Church in Bologna. He taught master classes in Italy and abroad, mainly on modern repertoires: in 2008 with Trumpet (Marco Tampieri) at the prestigious Hochschule fur Musik in Detmold (Germany) and in 2009 at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in Vilnius (Lithuania) and recently, in 2013 in Mainz (Germany) together with Daniele Ruggieri (Flute). He also gives advanced courses and master classes on modern literature, with particular reference to the Italian repertoire. He is frequently invited to participate in juries in national and international Organ Competitions (France 2007 “Prix d’Orgue Bach”, Italy 2009 and 2013 “Organ Competition San Guido d’Aquesana,” Russia 2011 “Mikael Tariverdiev Organ Competition”). His performances have been broadcast by Radio Russia and Italian Rai Radio 3.

He has published vocal and organ music with Pizzicato and Verlag Helvetia. In 2004 has pubblished for CALCANTE (U.S.A.) his CD “Organ music of today : a personal route” wholly dedicated to contemporary organ music . Two years later he pubblished CD “Suonate da organo di varii Autori “ (Giulio Cesare Arresti) on his instrument , for Discantica-Milano . On March 2010 was born his CD “Equi-voci” – in duet with trumpet (Marco Tampieri) – devoted to modern Italian repertoire. The following year he published the Cd ” Prece ad un Angelo” , violin-organ duo music (Roberto Noferini, violin) for Tactus label, performing romantic Italian repertoire; following year was published, for “La Bottega Discantica” in Milan, a new Cd dedicate to “Giovanni Antonio Ellena” with music for harmonium and violin (with Roberto Noferini). In collaboration with Rovigo Conservatory “Venezze” – where he taught for more than ten years – then he published CD “Elegien Ohne Worthe”, togheter with cellist Luca Paccagnella, an overview of original modern and romantic music for this duo . The last release, now coming, is “Invocation” with Daniele Ruggieri (flute) , concerning original romanthic and modern works for this duo .
