NYEMC PHOTOEARLY MUSIC FOUNDATION is pleased to announce its fifth NEW YORK EARLY MUSIC CELEBRATION

[NYEMC], a City-wide festival featuring New York’s historical performance artists. With the sub-title, “El Nuevo Mundo” this 2015 edition defines its theme. In addition to early music of the Latin Americas, Iberian repertoire will be programmed.

32 Events in 11 Days • Middle Ages thru the Classical Era • An Early Music Gamut!

NYEMC has arranged for select foreign guest ensembles to join the festivities. “La Fontegara” (trio-sonata ensemble) and “Tembembe Ensamble Continuo” (Mexican historically traditional repertoire) will arrive from Mexico and Musica Temprana, from Argentina (via Holland), will perform its North American debut. Four related lecture/workshops will take place at the City University of New York (CUNY) hosted by the Foundation for Iberian Music. Concert presenters – the Americas Society, the Mexican Cultural Institute and Music Before 1800 – are integral components of the festival.
