The Christ Church Choir of Men and Girls was founded in 2013 by Organist/Choirmaster David Jernigan. Centered around music of the Anglican Cathedral tradition, the girls of the choir, ranging in age from grades 3 – 12, often sing with an adult section of altos, tenors, and basses. They maintain a busy schedule of services and concerts and this program year have sung Kenneth Leighton’s Second Service, Herbert Howells’ Requiem, Vivaldi’s Gloria with period orchestra, and Rutter’s Dancing Day with N.C. Symphony harpist, Anita Burroughs-Price, as well as numerous other motets and anthems. Though their primary responsibility is to sing in worship at Christ Church in Raleigh, N.C., the girls have also sung services of choral eucharist and choral evensong at St. Paul’s K Street in Washington D.C., and Bruton Parish in Williamsburg, V.A.
